Reset a user's password for ESS and email by following
these steps. Note that the change will affect both
passwords for any given user.
- The user must provide his six-digit employee ID
number and the last four digits of his social security
number before you can provide any password information.
- Users can find employee ID numbers on the yellow
sheet received in the mail with their ESS information,
or on any pay stub printout. They may also
ask the payroll secretary at their location
or call 982-6515 to ask HR for employee ID
information.
- Once the user has provided the information required, look him up on Gateway.
- Click the Edit Person button.
- On the next page, click the Change Password
button.
- Ask the user for the password he'd like to use. Follow
these password guidelines:
- Must be at least 7 characters in length
- Can contain letters, numbers, or punctuation marks
- Cannot be a word that can be found in the English dictionary
- Cannot be a password that has been used as any of the past 8 passwords
- Cannot be the person's user ID
- Instructions for users to change their own passwords:
- From the Employee Connections page, choose the
ESS link at the top left.
- Choose Password Change on the left-hand
list of links.
- Follow instructions in the box displayed.
